We did our biggest lift the other day moving Kalki seated on his horse. Kalki is the tenth incarnation of Vishnu, the redeemer. The one who comes to institute the new age for humankind.
So on all levels this was a heavy lift, the statue weighs approximately 2 tons and we do not have much in the ways of professional lifting equipment, so we relied on good old bamboo (8 pieces) two winches, some rope and climbing webbing. We used a small pickup truck as a moving platform. It all went remarkably well , we did not hear a creak from the bamboo. Everything went perfectly to plan despite it being unbearably hot while completing the lift. Yours truly has suffered the after effects for several days now.
